In April, Kim and I went to New York City for a weekend to celebrate her 27th birthday (seriously how is my baby sister already 27??) and had a fabulous time. Separate blog post with pictures to come on that.
Since then the time has flown and now Chris and I are only 4 days away from our fifth wedding anniversary and leaving for Spain!!! 5 years is a long time to be married, especially nowadays, and since we love to travel, we thought a trip to celebrate would be better than any other gift. So thanks to $1050 in U.S. Air vouchers (Chris volunteered to give up his seat once and was bumped from a flight once) and a glitch in the U.S. Air system, our flights only cost us $62 total!! We fly into Madrid (via Philadelphia) and home from Barcelona (again via Philadelphia). We booked some really good hotels in Madrid, Sevilla, and Granada (according to TripAdvisor) and have rented an apartment in Barcelona for 4 nights to end our trip. While we are there, we will be visiting:
3 nights - Madrid (plan to take a day trip to Toledo)
2 nights - Sevilla
2 nights - Granada (will be visiting the Alhambra while there - already purchased our tickets)
4 nights - Barcelona (hoping to go to a FC Barcelona futbol match - still working on finding tickets for that)
Needless to say I am really excited. Chris and I can't wait to eat lots and lots of yummy tapas, drinks lots of delicious sangria and wine, and soak up Spanish history and culture. I promise a full trip report when we get back.
